Sacred River, 2017
“Borrowed time and borrowed world and borrowed eyes with which to sorrow it.”
— Cormac McCarthy, The Road
Sacred River brings together black-and-white digital photographs and analogue images made with film soaked in the river itself.
Burnt bodies, butchered blood, development dust and industrial effluents enter water regarded as sacred, forming a river that cuts through the city, carrying belief and breakdown in the same flow.
